Debunking the Debunker

In November of 2022, I watched a two part video on YouTube that debunked the Law of Attraction. Not that it changed my mind about my belief in its basic concepts but what I did discover is that the Law of Attraction is not exactly what I share in my workshop titled TEAM-Law of Action©. I've unwittingly, over the years, taken out the woo-woo bit which is the vibrational energy piece of LoA. I also find it adds an element of confusion and definitely leads skeptics to the pseudo-science conclusion of it all. I took it all out of my usage of the law (or forgot about it-lol) to just realize TEAM©.

I understand the skeptics who would want to bring light to the "scammers" who run rampant in the industry built around LoA. However, LoA itself- without claiming to be scientific- without the vibrational/energy piece- is at its core TEAM©. And that is what I share in my workshop. Another aspect of the critic of LoA I listened to is the fact he is registering his opinion, easily picked up in his judgement statements. In particular he points to the success rate of LoA being mere small percentages of people. Crediting their success to it are the likes of Jim Carey and Oprah Winfrey. He then posits what of the thousands not succeeding? Well now, isn't that a perception? Isn't that something you can say about any "laws" or methods, outlines, or frameworks for success? Plans, goals, etc. A certain small percentage always succeed for all society to see and the bulk of the other followers of a practice, plan or steps are not as successful- not to that societal level of mass awareness anyway. The reality is there are plenty of others enjoying their level of success with the system they have chosen even if it is the Law of Attraction!

It's like the opposite in the news, the 2% rule- the most sensational stories are cherry picked off the AP wire to air because they attract viewers of the commercials and that is all that broadcast television is about - commercials- Advertising! = Money! Hmm, why is no one debunking this low 2%? Like they question the 2% success rate of LoA? Anyway, success with LoA- while I may not appear successful to those like the skeptic I watched on YouTube, I am successful by my own standards. Why should I be bothered by him? He admits to his piece being opinion but he really should use the more accurate term; perception! His perception, anyone's perception -we cannot escape or get outside of our own perception- would that be a "Law" then?- Perception? Oh I think it's worth a ponder at least.

This then is a whole other rodeo- isn't it? Can it be debunked the "Law of Perception"? To example: Thrift Stores, Antique Malls, online sale platforms like eBay, Worthy, Ruby Lane, Etsy... all of them are stocked full of perception. Why is a Beatles autograph more valuable than a one-hit-wonder from the 1960's? Perception! A widely accepted perception but(!) only to those of a certain age. People born in the 21st century now in their 20's, may not even know who John Lennon or George Harrison were. So time plays a part in perception too. Sure, thanks to the series "The Tudors", we all know who Henry the VIII is but do we know the name of someone who lived on Green Street in London in 1532 much less what they did for a living? So we need to add that perception is relative to time as well.

Regardless of time or space, a fact no skeptic can get around is that you can't get outside your own perceptions. Then also, when many embrace a particular perception it becomes a social norm (i.e. murder is bad). But is it bad when the person being murdered is a serial killer? Perception... is a concept at least but as pervasive as it is could it be a law governing our lives or is it something else?
