CONSTRUCT

PERCEPTION

The ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses. “The normal limits to human perception.”

A state of being or process of becoming aware of something through the senses.

“the perception of pain”

a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression.

“Hollywood’s perception of the tastes of the American public”.

The neuro-physiological processes, including memory, by which an organism becomes aware of and interprets external stimuli.

One person’s junk is another person’s treasure.

Newton realized that every object in the universe attracts every other object in the universe. This is where we get the Law of Attraction. The law of attraction is based on the law of gravity. This is why those who coach The Law of Attraction speak of its inevitability and effect on everyone. Should the Law of Attraction actually be coached as the law of gravity? I believe the attraction piece is what confuses people about the law itself. And the people who motivate others towards this Law of Attraction which is actually, for them, the law of gravity have taken this basic rule of the existence of the universe and pinned it underneath the scam of big money, big health, big relationship success and more. Though, we must keep in mind that success is highly subjective. One person’s success appears to another as failure. This is perception, this could be called the “law of perception” but I do not want a psychological construct of the human mind to be confused with a scientific application like the law of gravity. Yet, we must recognize we cannot escape this construct of perception. To be outside your own head is not possible. Not in the state of mind in which we typically spend our life day after day. And as I believe nothing really is impossible, I would suggest that to be outside your own head would require an altered state of consciousness. Perhaps meditation would hold that possibility to actually be outside your own head. Such as it is, the large percentage of humanity is likely embracing (unknowingly for the most part) the concept of the construct of perception. All of life is a perception as seen through the eyes of the perceiver. I see this article as my perception because I know this article is the result of my thoughts based on exposure to the basic principle stated in the first sentences of this article. What your perception is of my perception is up to you not me. Could perception also be called opinion? I think it’s a reasonable use of a synonym for perception in most cases. But! There are always exceptions to rules and laws, which are always up for interpretation- just ask any attorney. Yet, the single exception to this rule of exception just might be the law of gravity, at least it is in this universe… right?
